Next Generation sequencing has been recognized by Nature as the 2007 Method of the Year. You can learn more about its applications by downloading our Introduction to 454 Applications or by visiting the 454 website. In addition, our personnel are happy to provide consultation on experiment design, sample preparation and data interpretation. Please, contact us using the information request form to obtain an exact quote based on your needs and the ability to prepare the samples.
Core for Applied Genomics and Ecology (CAGE) offers a wide variety of sequencing services. The Core provides genome researchers with high-capacity sequencing applications such as whole genome sequencing, large-scale sequencing of BACS, fosmids and metagenome libraries as well as deep sequencing applications which allow investigators to survey highly complex populations of microorganisms or to look for variants within uniform populations. Equipped with a 454 Roche sequencer, we specialize in high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA amplicons and high-throughput DNA extraction from fecal, cecal, tissue, food and other kinds of samples.
In March of 2009, Titanium sequencing platform became available at CAGE. This platform allows us to produce longer (up to 600 bp) reads and to accommodate tens to hundreds of samples on a single run. You can learn more about our protocols and equipment by clicking on the links to the left. Uniquely, our 16S rRNA amplicon clients also have access to databases where their samples' information is stored along with the obtained sequences and from where this information can be uploaded into several high-throughput data analysis pipelines.
CAGE continues to offer all of its DNA microarray services, including array design, fabrication, hybridization, image analysis, and primary data analysis. CAGE has extensive experience with cDNA arrays and oligonucleotide arrays and offers a variety of fluorescent labeling techniques, including Cy-dye incorporation, amino-allyl incorporation, or dendrimers.
In addition to NextGen Sequencing and DNA Microarray services, CAGE has substantial experience with a variety of genotyping methods including Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism, Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism, Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis, Variable Number Tandem Repeat Analysis, and Multi-Locus Sequence Typing.
